The Hungarian Birth Cohort Study reached another milestone. In the now-launching, telephone survey phase, expected to last a full year, we ask mothers raising their cohort children aged 2-2,5, primarily about their participation in the labour market.
The questionnaire will, among other things, cover the forms of employment of working mothers with young children, possible discrimination in the workplace, the issue of day care for children and the division of labour between parents. We are also interested to learn about employment plans of mothers who are not currently working and the parents’ future childbearing plans.
Additionally, although the focus of this study wave will be on the characteristics of maternal employment, we will also inquire about the impact of the current pandemic on mothers and their families’ daily lives.
